Riding Boots
A word about how to protect your feet when you’re around horses. Horses are large animals with little thought to where they put their feet. You need foot protection that is two fold. On the ground, where you could potentially be stepped on, and in the saddle so that your feet stay in a good position in the stirrup. You want something with a slight heel, not too high so that it could become “hooked” on the stirrup, but not too low where your foot slides all the way through it, Here are some examples of the different types of boots appropriate for beginner horse riding.
Paddock boots are a good way to go when you’re first starting out. This particular pair is reasonably priced and won’t break the bank until you can figure out just how dedicated to the sport you want to be.

Tennis shoes are not generally a good option while riding as they have no heel and could easily slip through the stirrup.
