Don’t ever get on a horse without a helmet on, period. I know there are those that would argue that they do it all the time, people still get hurt when wearing helmets, etc. The truth is, 85% of all equine related fatalities are a direct result of the rider not wearing a helmet. It’s kind of like wearing seat belts in the car, yes there are those that survive car crashes without them, but the statistics just flat out say that you stand a better chance of having less severe injuries by wearing one.
